V Festival line up announced

By Andrew Cowen on Mar 4, 08 12:37 PM in Music

It's probably the only festival to come close to challenging Glastonbury for scale and quality. We're talking about the V Festival, of course, the annual three-day hootenanny happening on the outskirts of Stafford and in Chelmsford.

The dual sites have swerved the organisers well and now, with only 162 days to go, we have details of the first 39 acts.

You'll need to clear the decks for the weekend of August 16 and 17 and save up the £145 for a weekend ticket. Booking starts on Friday and the event always sells out.

With the calibre of acts lined up this year, expect them to be the proverbial hot cakes.

Headliners Muse and The Verve, live supremos Kings of Leon and Stereophonics and other favourites as well as future Brit icons such as Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs, The Prodigy, and The Kooks will be gracing both sites.

Also confirmed are THE ZUTONS, THE PIGEON DETECTIVES, LENNY KRAVITZ, MAXIMO PARK, IAN BROWN, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS, THE VIEW, NEWTON FAULKNER, THE POGUES, THE CHARLATANS, THE HOOSIERS, REVEREND AND THE MAKERS, THE FEELING, ALANIS MORISSETTE, SCOUTING FOR GIRLS, DUFFY, JAMIE T, HOT CHIP, GIRLS ALOUD, THE FUTUREHEADS, SQUEEZE, THE TWANG, SUGABABES, TRAVIS, AMY MACDONALD, THE COURTEENERS, SHED SEVEN, THE RIFLES, ROBYN, DAVID JORDAN and ONE REPUBLIC.
