Another Dr Who-ha

I wanted to start this with the time-honoured and so-annoying phrase 'told you so'. But, being all grown up (ish), I won't. Best thing about the second Dr Who episode was undoubtedly the fantastic set (borrowed from the American-produced Rome mini-series) and the great idea of the priestesses having eyes painted on their back of their hands.
The rest was too knowing by half, with Frankie Howerd and Spartacus references aimed squarely at an adult audience. I gather that Ms Tate is considering a return to the West End stage, so hopefully she won't be the new Dr Who's companion.
Wouldn't it be great if the next Time Lord incarnation was female?
All fans should go to http://grovesmedia.wordpress.com/ and find a fuller, but equally forlorn analysis of what is, in the end, a kids' show. It should be as throwaway as Basil Brush. Perhaps the famous fox could be the next companion?
Pictured, by the way, as all fans will know, is an ood from an upcoming adventure.

But aren't we all just kids at heart at the end of the day, Sid?
I'm not, obviously.
I never liked Basil Brush - if he wasn't a puppet he'd be that annoying bloke from personnel (sorry, HR) with the novelty socks and dubious facial hair, probably.
(Thanks for the link again - I'll be doing something on The Apprentice once more tonight too)
I'm afraid BB (as in Brush, not Brother or Mr King) is a case of the Enid Blyton Syndrome - not in favour with adults, but loved by kids. And if you think Basil is a prat, you've never seen his cousin, a regular visitor.
Basil's cousin would not be welcome in our house.
Generally I don't mind inappropriate kids TV, but even as a child BB annoyed the hell out of me.
I see Heroes is back next week for a second series - I'm already preparing myself to be disappointed given the lacklustre return of the Doctor.
Sid,
I've come to the conclusion that it is all Donna's fault - I'm waiting for the Catherine Tate Show sketch to start each time she appears and Dr Who's writers and directors are over-playing her comedic talents.
Loved the Ood though.
There's nothing quite as scarily funnily as a rabid Ood, don't you think?
