The Launch of the Brumcast Lite Podcast

By Brumcast on May 7, 08 04:24 PM in Music

Brumcast originally was put together about two years ago by me, Chris Downing to air some of Birmingham and the Midlands' unsigned musical talent.

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

There has now been over 90 shows put together and the response that I have received has been very positive. The charming folks at the Birmingham Post have asked me to put together a show for their new blogs to air the voice of the underground further which I 'm only too pleased to do.

Don't expect the styles of the tracks to follow on, I like to think that I have a disregard for genre. Please listen into the new Birmingham Post podcast and if you like what you hear then also please
listen into my regular weekly 90 minute shows downloadable free from http://brumcast.podomatic.com.

In the meantime the first show I have provided should give you a taste of things to come.

The tracklist for this podcast is:

1.Mayday - This City's got an Offering
2.The Destroyers - Out Of Babel
3.Einstellung - Konstant (Radio Edit)
4.PCM - Davros Dominion

If you're in a Midlands based band then please send me an mp3 to brumcast@hotmail.co.uk I'll be only too pleased to listen to your material.

The mp3 file is also available for download here: BrumcastLite01.mp3

Chris: do you do requests? If so, can I ask for some Birmingham Bertie and Voodoo Johnson next time round? If not, no offence taken . . . .

Just heard about the Jug of Ale in Moseley closing down.

This is a real shame - a Birmingham music institution.

They're gonna turn it into an Indian Restaurant apparently.

(And I was only thinking the other day, what Birmingham really needs, more than anything else, is more Indian restaurants)

Well done Chris,

Hope this Birmingham Post venture is a regular thing.

Cheers,

Ian
