Taking a Deco at Miss Brodie
Another lazy but great value blog ...Here's a clever publicity shot for The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie, which I went on about the other day, showing Anna Francolini as Jean.
The location is 78 Derngate (the Rennie Macintosh-designed house in Northampton just around the corner from Royal&Derngate), who allowed Paul Martin to do a photoshoot there. The actress was Olivier-nominated for her performance in the National's Caroline, or Change last year.
Incidentally, Circus Oz is at the venue this week, Wednesday to Friday, in a 30th anniversary show. So as a treat, anyone born in 1978, therefore also 30 this year, can get free entry to the show. Call 01604 624811 to get your tickets. The show was a huge hit at Edinburgh this year.
The Macintosh house, originally designed for the chap who invented Hornby trains, is a must-see, by the way. It's an art deco masterpiece.
