Loki Wines becomes Birmingham's latest wine destination

By Richard Saxton on Jun 12, 12 05:08 PM in Culture

Local entrepreneur Phil Innes is about to open Loki Wines in Great Western Arcade. Having set up Slosh Box, an online retailer, Phil has now decided to go for a more direct approach by setting up Birmingham's first specialist wine tasting venue.

Loki will be opening in Unit 36 Great Western Arcade on Thursday 14th June, just next door to The Whiskey Shop. Not only will you be able to purchase various bottles to consume at home, you can also buy a bottle to drink in the upstairs seating area or try a small sample of various wines from the specially designed sampling machines by purchasing a pre-paid card.

Either way the opening of Loki will provide Birmingham with an excellent venue to buy or sample from a host of interesting wines. The Hartenberg Weisser Riesling from South Africa will be on sample on their opening day and this is a wine I fell in love with on honeymoon in South Africa.

I'd encourage all wine lovers in Birmingham to pop in to Loki from Thursday 14th to discover something new.
