Welcome to Brumcast Lite Show 5, with brand new tracks from Copter, Machine Boy, The Scarlet Harlots, and Gas - a fine mix of dynamite soul, electro pop, punk step, and ambient.

Well after I discovered that Copter had made their new album free for download last week, this week a real treat for you all. Miss Halliwell (no, not Geri) have made both EPs that they released earlier this year, 'Imp-Imperfection' and 'Pre-dateoralbum Launch Party' free to download on their own Shabby Records archive page which can be found right here.

Now I could bore anyone to death going on about how good this trio are, and their extremely quotable lyrics. Now I don't have to. Download the EPs and see for yourself. All comes with artwork too! Please look to donate them a few quid!

If you're a myspace user you can keep up to date with their latest gig info and goings on and all that here. They are playing next at Katie Fitzgeralds in Stourbridge on October 27th which will be a live audio and video recording. Give them some support!

Well if you like a bit of dynamite soul and 50's kitsch then you can't go far wrong with Copter's third album. Grab their free album download by right clicking and saving right here make sure to visit Copter Central for the artwork and further info, and of course the obligatory myspace.

Top stuff chaps, its great to see local bands giving away their music for free in the interests of promotion. There are so many tight so and so's out there!

Welcome to Brumcast Lite Show 4.

A few gems for you this edition, the show kicks off with a classic piece of psychedelic garage rock from Betty & The Id, followed by a brand new track from Mayday. We have an exclusive track from Silent Space, and news of Sunset Cinema Club's impending album release. Enjoy!!!

Well, we've been away for a while as The Birmingham Post sorted out a few technical issues, but now Brumcast Lite is back!

This week we're funking it up with Munchbreak, going shopping with Miss Halliwell, rewiring kids toys with Modified Toy Orchestra, and have been provided with a mighty finish from Brummy experimental post-rockers Old School Tie.

Enjoy!

Brumcast Lite 2

By Brumcast on May 13, 08 06:42 PM in Music

Welcome to Brumcast Lite Show 2, and it's a pretty dark week in the hot sun for Birmingham as one of its most prestigious music venues, 'The Jug of Ale' in Moseley is closing its doors for good to be converted into an Indian restaurant apparently. At least that's what I've heard....Big Shame! Anyway on the plus side, this week I've got some pretty exciting stuff for you....exciting ....remember that??? Please listen in!

Brumcast originally was put together about two years ago by me, Chris Downing to air some of Birmingham and the Midlands' unsigned musical talent.

There has now been over 90 shows put together and the response that I have received has been very positive. The charming folks at the Birmingham Post have asked me to put together a show for their new blogs to air the voice of the underground further which I 'm only too pleased to do.
