Birmingham Town Hall: a history in pictures
This blog will bring you a selection of pictures taken from the Birmingham City Archive currently stored at the Central Library.*
An illustration of Birmingham's Town Hall from the 1830s:
Acclaimed as the finest music hall in the country when it first opened in 1834 - Birmingham Town Hall reopened last year after being closed to the public for 10 years.
The reopening followed a £35 million renovation which saw the Grade 1 listed landmark painstakingly restored to its former glory by a dedicated team of conservation and construction professionals.
Birmingham Town Hall circa 1895:
Work on the building included substantial roof and stonework repairs, the reinstatement of the 1834 single tiered gallery arrangement, installation of a flexible 1,100 seating facility and new acoustic and lighting provisions, as well as improved access and front of house facilities.

I love old sketches or paintings of various interesting parts of our cities particularly Lancaster, Birmingham, SW London - areas I'm familiar with. Any ideas where I could purchase some good quality prints?
Only one post? I think you are missing the point.
