Birmingham Post live blog from The Big Debate
http://www.birminghampost.net/news/liveblog/
It's been a hectic few months since we launched The Birmingham Post's new website, in which time we've seen the number of daily users more than double, page impressions increase by a similar amount, and hundreds of people sign-up for our e-newsletters.
But the real success story is in what we've learned - and continue to learn - about this medium, and how it changes the very journalism of papers like The Post.
Today is probably the biggest day for The Post online, as we link up with those very nice people at the NEC Group and Birmingham City University to stage our latest Big Debate, entitled Digital Revolution: More Power or Powerless?. It's part of the New Generation Arts Festival.
We think we'll become the first UK newspaper to cover an event by both broadcasting live video on the internet and by blogging.
We're using technology from liveblogging website CoverItLive and video site Bambuser for the event, which will take place at the International Convention Centre from 12.30pm.
The chair is BBC technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones and the panel will include music industry expert Chris Cooke, Anthony Rose, head of the BBC's iPlayer project; Doug Williams, project director for BT and our very own digital journalist, Joanna Geary.
If you want to watch or take part, log in here, and watch the live broadcast here.
