Video: Birmingham MPs talk about their expenses
This is a video blog post showing some of the work I have been doing as Political Editor of the Birmingham Mail and Birmingham Post over the past week, and how MPs have responded to the expenses controversy.
"This was all set up to give people a little bit of extra cash and hide it from the taxpayer, and that was very wrong." John Hemming MP.

Perhaps I've missed it but in all the reports about our politicians and their trough of gold one party is curiously missing: UKIP. It appears that Nigel Farage of UKIP said to Denis MacShane, former Labour minister for Europe, that he had availed himself of 'more than £2 million in expenses' in his four year-term in the European parliament. UKIP are no better then those that have ripped up the system in Westminster, and Farage's acts are by far worse then that of any MP that we have heard of so far. I shall register a protest vote on June 4 but not with UKIP!
I have to agree with the above comment. UKIP are no different and i find it amazing that people are ignoring them out of the equation.

The above link, is a Youtube video (of course) of a UKIP MEP Tom Wise bragging at the fact he has milked the taxpayer for THOUSANDS every week in dodgy allowances and travel claims. Why hasn't this been mentioned by the press in as much depth as the main three parties?
